The Discover 100M
is the latest entrant under the Discover portfolio and is a toned down
version of the sportier 100T priced at Rs 46,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)

Bajaj Auto, which had earlier announced that it would be launching
six new products under the Discover brand name kept its word as it
unveiled the Discover 100M. Visually the bike looks similar to the
Discover 100T but according to Bajaj it
has been based on a completely new platform featuring a shorter
wheelbase of 1255mm. Powering the 100M is a 102cc, four-stroke, 4-valve,
DTS-i engine pumping out 9.3PS @ 8,000rpm and 9.02Nm@ 6,000rpm and
mated to a 4-speed transmission unlike its elder siblings 5-speed one.
Though the engine is similar to the 100T, the boffins have reduced the
torque by 0.5Nm while peak torque is achieved at 500rpm lesser than its
elder sibling. This according to the company has been done to make the
bike more rideable in heavy traffic conditions while commuting. Bajaj claims a top speed of 95km/h and overall fuel efficiency of 85kmpl.
